First 5K and we had a blast!

Well today was my first 5k.  I walked most of it, but I did it.  AND I did it in under an hour which was my goal.   My time was 50 minutes flat.  I was really pretty happy with it considering I havent worked out in a over a week.  I thought I had a stomach bug, but turns out it was actually a stricture.  So a week of dehydration/IV fluids/dilitation later I am finally feeling good enough and hydrated enough to walk.

Most importantly my husband and son who both have weight issues walked with me.  My hubby made it in 46 minutes and my son in 49 minutes. (he opted to run the last bit to get a better time than mom )   It was a great family time and my husband actually asked when the next one was and what he could do to improve his time.   Nothing like some friendly competition.

So, we had a great time, I met my goal AND I didnt get lapped by one of the 10K folks.

Next one is Dec 3rd and I am going to be jogging that one, hopefully in 45 minutes. (since I jog only slightly faster than a walk)  :-)

Thanks for all of your support, I still would have done it, but its great to have such support!
