i just took a look at my goofy training plan from last year.... ut oh, i am a solid 3 to 4 weeks behind schedule.  i slapped myself in the face a few times and tweaked the schedule, hopefully i can slowly ramp the miles back up without creating overtraining issues.

how is everybody else doing on their training plans??
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

I'm right there with you Bill,

I have a 1/2 marathon in 2 weeks and I haven't run further than 6 miles all year.  I should be at the 8-10 mile mark, but we had a couple family emergencies that ate up my weekends, so no long runs.

I just added this race into my training plan for the Disney races, I thought it would be a good way to get in a longer run.  Now I'm going to pay for it.

I think I'll just break it up into a bunch of 2-3 mile runs with walk breaks at the aid stations

No dillusions of setting a PR on this race, my goal is just to finish withoug getting hurt.

I'm sorry, I'm in the middle of marathon panic.

I'm running a marathon in 12 days.  We bailed on our 18 mile run and then had to travel and never fit in our 20 mile run.  So yup, marathon with a longest run of 16 miles - and those were pretty UGLY.  Did a solid 13+ this past weekend, so we'll get to the finish one way or the other (I have WALKED 26.2 recently, but running... hrmm).

So I'm feeling good about Goofy because it's not the next thing on my plate.  I'll panic about that in a few weeks.  :)

you know, I have had more than a few vets tell me, and from my own experience I am starting to truly believe, that the long slow runs/trainings are almost purely for physcological reasons.  If you can knock out 16 you will be fine, just don't let your head psych you out.  The body is doing the same thing in the 3rd hour as it was doing in the 2nd hour.  I am not plnning to do long runs much more than 16, but I am going to keep the intensity up more.

I've been sick and haven't worked out since the Half-marathon on Sunday. But I'm not panicked as it's so far away.

I haven't been sick but purposely haven't done anything since sunday's 70.3 (69.1).  I am planning to take a few more days of nothing as well.  My body is just telling me to rest a bit before we ramp up again.  I want to wake up feeling 100% before I start up again.  You think that's crazy?
