Saturday Workouts!!!
Did a 6 mile run/walk. My training schedule called for a 5 mile run today. However, my stupid left knee started hurting before I hit 4 miles. I walked for .5 of a mile then tried again. I couldn't run for .25 without it hurting. I did 6 miles total since I probably walked a full 2 miles on and off. Wish I would have had time to do more walking. It was 55 degrees with clear skys. Doesn't get any better than that!
Question for you runners: I had to miss my run Thursday because my boy was sick with a stomach virus and we were up all night. So, I ran a short run on Friday morning to make up for it. Since my knee apparently still won't allow me to run two days back-to-back, I guess I should have just skipped the Thursday run all together? My husband's opinion is that it's way more important to protect my knee for my long runs. Makes sense...I was just so scared to completely skip a run. What would y'all have done?

unless you have logged a ton of miles and are used to running back to back I wouldn't try to make up a missed run. I learned this the hard way as it seems you are. At this point in our running I don't think or bodies are capable of the strain.
Get some ice on your knee and relax.
Congrats on the finish!

27 mi bike ride.
To answer your question: I skip workouts all the time. Sometimes because my body tells me to and sometimes life intervenes. If I can squeeze it in later in the week, I will, but a lot of times, it's just gone...
I think you just have to except that and plan for it.
