Who is doing the SJ Rock 'n Roll Half?
Anyway, we should get together before or after the race and say Hi!

I started in the 2:30 corral and that worked beautifully. We were all running about the same pace out of the gate. I did start to get passed after the first mile or so but we were more spread out by then. Two years ago when I did this race, I started in a pretty slow corral and I spent the first couple of miles dodging slow people. So I was happy to not have that experience this time.
I walked the aide stations and put some topical goop on my bad leg at each one. In the second half of the race, I had to also do some stretching of the calf. I also did one "medicine" break at the 9 mile mark (so in between the 8 and 10 mile aide stations) but I also skipped the last aide station so it worked out.
At one point, naer the end, after a break to smear goop, I saw the 2:45 pace group in front of me. They passed me at the aide station since they ran through it. I wasn't happy and saw my 2:45 time going out the window, but I was able to catch them easily once I started running again and I didn't see them for the rest of the race.
Ran the 2nd 5 miles slightly slower than the first 5 but I just poured it on for the last 3 miles and more than made up for it.
Finished in 2:38:08

Good job considering the injury.
I didn't do as well as I hoped, but still finished in 2:19:54 which is a PR for this course for me, but not a PR overall
I hadn't broken 2:23 in my previous races. Stomach didn't cooperate so that cost me about 4 minutes. My foot injury also flared up at Mile 11 and gutted it out at the end.
My results
Overall: 5302 out of 9831 · Division: 543 out of 777 · Gender: 3143 out of 4415
They had splits up earlier, but I don't see them now, bummer
