Where do I start?
Hello, I had RNY 4 weeks ago today.
During week 2 I began walking on a bike path near my house. Now, for the last week I am walking 3 miles per day.
I am still on weight lifting restrictions (per my doctor) but I am thinking forward and now am not sure what to do next.
Can anyone offer some advice as for what comes next....
Many thanks.

cycling and swimming are good low impact exercises.
I'm not sure if you are cleared yet to soak in a pool, I don't remember how long it was before they told me I could do that.
Also if you can run/jog/walk go for that. Any combination works great.
Many people here have had success with the couch to 5k program.

This program is made to make you succeed. It is slow paced and has gentle progression.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
Now it's time to figure out what you like to do. I'd be careful of anything that stresses your core until your lifting restrictions are gone though.
But taking classes at the gym, trying different machines, etc. is the next step.
Once you figure out what you like to do, then you can start thinking about the best way to do that sort of exercise.
Don't forget to do strength training though. A lot of people do all cardio and that can backfire in the long run.
