Well, I have to admit a year ago today I would have been complaining about walking from the parking lot to the grocery store door. I could not ride most of the amusement rides, and was genuinely unhealthy.

Today I completed a 5 mile run in 54 minutes. That is 6 minutes slower than when I ran my first 5k On May 21, 2011, but obviously almost two miles further. I was also able negative split the last mile.

My continued thanks and support in this forum, I am having so much fun being a healthier me. Looking forward to some longer distance in the near future, and some tri's.

Congrats, that's a great job.

It's funny how that last mile gets easier when you can smell the finish line.  It's almost like the weight of the previous miles disappear when you are getting close to home.

 Too funny.

it's kind of like this. I put one foot in front of the other, hope I don't trip, and pray that my watch is wrong and it is actually 4,9 miles into the 5 mile run.
