Thank to all of you for the inspiration!
I dont post often in other forums, but this forum I check every day. I read your posts about finishing 10K's, 15K's, half marathons, full marathons, and even IRONman races and I am in awe and am so inspired. You have all been where I am and have made it. People keep asking me what my goal is for weight loss and I keep telling them I want to run. Thats it. I want to run and run far and run proud. Yes, I am going to lose a ton of weight, but I am going to run. Having the support of people who have been there and done that, is amazing. So, thank to all of you, you make this journey easier and much more fun!

Those of us who have been around a while are equally inspired by the newer folks - you take chances and risks, often without anything but blind faith and the assurance of a bunch of strangers on the internet that believe you can do it. You are wonderul reminders of where we have come from and why we need to keep going.
Thank you for sharing your journey!

We have all been where you are. Glad to see you here and posting. When I was starting out, I didn't really set a set number goal, my weight goal was a range, and when I got to a certain point, not number, I knew I was at my goal weight. Like you, all I wanted to do was run. For me it was to run again, I was a runner before I became morbidly obese. Of course with that, triathlon became my passion. Maybe it will for you too. This is a very exciting time in your life, and the possibilities are endless! Keep posting and keep asking question. I think this is the most supportive board on OH. At Ironman Louisville a few weeks ago, it was incredible meeting Andrew and Dan in person. I think all of use on the board have a bond that goes beyond "online buddies"

As someone who has very recently been at the start of this lifestyle I know how inspiring everyones stories of marathons and triathalons were and still are. It was actually Dan's trimywill.com blog that helped me in my decision to follow through with having an RNY and then adopting an active lifestyle as soon after surgery as possible.
Once I started this forum and met all the awesome people here I soon learned that the sky is the limit and the only thing holding me back was myself. Seeing newer members such as yourself motivate me to keep pushing just as much as the long time vets.
Keep up the great work and soon you will be posting race reports.
