September Disney Update
So I'm a little late posting this
I was wodering what people thought their run times were going to be. I was wondering if any of us would be running together.
When are people planning to arrive. It might be fun to have a meet and great or dinner together
I am arriving with my family the week prior to the race so we can enjoy the park and do some tourist stuff prior to the race.
Scott

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
I am arriving either Thursday night or Friday morning. Hope to meet people for dinner Friday late afternoon.
EDITED to ADD:
my boyfriend and I are hoping to come in just under the max for the 1/2 (so 3 hrs?)
and we're not sure about the marathon yet... we'll see how training goes, but we're aiming for slow and enjoying the scenery.. so maybe 6 hrs.

same as sue, looking for a get together for an early dinner on Friday with everybody. my times last year were 1:53 and 3:56 respectively. i was hoping to PR each, but with the extent of my current injury and the fact i have no base (beyond 3 miles) at the moment, i may have to change my goals a bit.
Scott, if you are not running the half, i expect to see some cowbell on the route saturday morning!

Where are we going?? And why am I in this handbasket??
right now. somewhere. somebody is working harder than you.

I still haven't made firm plans, but I am leaning toward arriving just before and stay afterward for couple days.
As of right now, I am looking to do the half in 2:30 and the full around 4:30. Basically I want to enjoy them both so I might go slower.. hoping to really savor the experience versus set a time PR.

We're arriving Thurs. and leaving the following Thurs.
I just started training for this last week. I really have no idea what my times will be at this point because it depends on my injury. I'm really hoping to be injury free by Jan. I'm pretty close now. So I could be doing anywhere from 14 min. miles to 10 min. miles and that's a wide range.
What are people doing for training? I looked at a bunch of plans and I decided to train based on time and not mileage. I am going to run 30 min and 1 hour during the week and then build up to two runs, one Sat and one on Sun. (Right now I'm doing one on Sunday.)
The Sunday run will be no more than 2-3 hours, not sure about the Sat. run.
I still plan to swim one day a week and bike 1-2x though one of those might be a spin class. But for the most part I'm going to be doing run training and not tri training until the Goofy Challenge is over.

MWF I plan to continue to do versions of my 3-4 mile run. In general I will be using these to increase my speed and general fitness.
Saturday or Sunday will be the long day as I try to increase my mileage each week. Right now I'm at the 8-10 mile range on the weekends. I'll probably be adding a mile a wee****il the race day

I've never done a marathon so I don't feel comfortable without a plan. Though I never do well with those canned plans either.
I made up my own plan... we'll see how well I follow it.
