Yep, the breakouts can get bad. Apparently cotton does not 'wick' sweat away from the cotton but holds the moisture and is slow to dry. The sweat-soaked cotton constantly rubbing against our butts adds to pore friction and encourage bacterial growth and pore inflammation. I found some wicking briefs at the local running store. It pulls the sweat away from our bodies and allows the skin to breath which it can't do with wet cotton laying against it. I know my exercise are much more comfortable without the wet cotton and the medicated pads seem to have helped cutdown on the breakouts. At least they aren't as large and inflamed as they were.
