how much my heart loves me for running!!

I am falling apart from running.  I have bruised toes, missing toenails, infected boils on my thighs/buttocks from blocked sweat glands, acne on my back/jaw line from not being able to shower right away from working out, etc.

I know how great running is for my cardio health but man....I didn't anticipate all this other stuff.  I feel like a hot mess!

my toes/feet have managed pretty well (knock on wood), but this acne is horrible.  I feel like a teenager.

It sounds like your shoes aren't long enough. That's  usually what causes the bruised toes and missing toenails. Alternately, they could be too big or not laced up right and you are slipping around in them and banging your toes against the ends. But usually it's not enough room in the toe box once your feet swell that causes this.

The toes are your shoes.  I have had no foot problems until my milage hit double digits and my feet started swelling. Now I have to awesome bigtoes with nails a nice shade of purple, my next purchase is bigger shoes.

As for the rest Look at the life you have now, it is probably worth it in the long run.

I know what you mean about the acne:

I asked my doc what to do about 'butt breakout'?  He said "what?"  I said "you know, butt breakout. Pimples on my posterior, acne on my a$$."

He just laughed and said don't show your ass in public!  Then he advised me to buy wicking underwear.  I have wicking garments and a wicking sports bra but was wearing cotton panties which added to blocked pores.  He also recommended the acne pads that teenagers use that contain salyclic (sp?) acid.  They would help cut down on the bacterial growth if I can't shower right away.  They DO help and I always have a jar in my workout bag and don't have the breakouts on the my jawline and butt like I used to.

And your Loves, Loves, Loves you and will probably stick around much longer than when you mistreated it!!!

I am creating my own revolution and PAMdemonium reigns!

Your post cracked me up!!  Isn't the acne awful?  I swear its like being back in Jr. High School all over again!

I'm doing exactly what your doc suggested--the acne pads--and hopefully that will work.  I always switch to cotton undies for when I work out--thinking that would help but it sounds like I will have to try the wicking garments--I've never even heard of them before?!?!

Thanks for the FYI--I'm desperate and will try anything right now!!  :)
