I'm two weeks pre-op and mad right now because ...well you know that part doesn't even matter.   My anger makes me want to punch something and I've thought about this before that this might be a good thing to take up post op.

Seems like it would be a good way to vent and excercise and might help me avoid thinking about food when I'm at a low ebb.

I was thinking about getting one of those standing bags and putting it in my basement.  Anyone else do boxing to keep fit and if so can you give me tips as a total beginner?

I dont' have any knowledge about boxing, but I want to commend you on looking for a healthy way to work out your emotions.

Hopefully others have some good information for you.  Martial arts are also very popular and there seem to be classes available everywhere for all kinds of beginners.

Good luck!

Yeah, you know I figure boxing out my anger is a way of turning a negative into a positive. The last 24 hours had been frustrating because surgery is two weeks away and the cardiac office lost my ekg and nobody told me. I've had to drag everyone kicking and screaming just to do the minimum of what their job requires. I even had my PCP office lose my authorization for my GI stuff. Not that they wanted to even ask for it in the first place.

It's almost sorted out although I had to reschedule the endoscopy.

Oh yeah and the bookstore lost my textbook for a class I'm taking. Hence my need for something to hit.

I do fancy taking up Krav Mga. I don't see classes that close to me here, but I'm going to keep looking.

Good luck with your upcoming marathon btw.
