I am OUT and so is Christie. We won a trip to Florida in a sales contest in March 2012 and I am doing the Ironman Florida 70.3 in May so a 3 rd trip to Florida in 5 months just isn't in the cards unfortunately for the Benintendi's this go around. Sounds like it is going to be a blast!

any of y'all have a specific training plan you're going to use, or just typical marathon work? I am planning one more half im in october, then moving to a lot of weight training and running with a spin class here and there, working up to a 9 mile lsd followed by a 16-17 mile lsd back to back days as my longest. Just don't want to get injured, that sucks.
i used a customized plan last year, i am going to tweak it this year a bit. last year for my last and longest set of runs i ended up doing a 10 mile run on 12/23 and then a 20 miler on 12/24 (yes, Christmas eve)... that led to a guilt free Christmas dinner :)
This year i think i'm going to add another long weekend to it and top out @ 11/22 mile back-to-back days, i really bonked on the marathon last year. i only did maybe 4 weekends of back to back days running to avoid injury and only ran 3 days a week with one cross-train day (typically spin class or on the bike). when i build my program i will send it to you. i am also planning on integrating a 1/2 marathon race on turkey day into the schedule if i can.

I am training for an October marathon...and then I'm going to fall into Galloway's Goofy training plan. My boyfriend and I are not remotely interested in our finishing times (other than not getting swept), so I think the beginner plan will lead us to finish in a slow time. We're going for the experience more than anything.
