Exercise Stats?
I am on the count down to my surgery date 8/31/11. Previously, in one of my successful weight loss endeavors, I was very active with exercise, particularly weight lifting. I have plans to begin an aggressive weight training program as soon as my surgeon will allow. I am having my surgery at a renowned 'teaching' hospital and have been chosen to participate in a post surgical exercise study as well. Depending on which 'randomized' study I am placed in, I'll be receiving some personal training either immediately or six months post surgery. My question --is there any information out there-- that someone can direct me to that shows any kind of stats on exercise and bariatric surgery--particulary comparing weight loss percentages (and how quick it comes off) of those exercising versus those who just follow the diet regime alone?
The logical side of my brain knows that exercise will help...but I'd love to see it in print.
THANKS!

All the studies I've seen are about exercise and weight loss but not weight loss via bypass (or any other bariatric surgery). Sorry...
I do think there are a few out there that show that people who maintain after WLS are more likely to exercise than people who have trouble maintaining.
