I am doing a half next Sunday. Here's the question, if I train legs on Monday what kind of schedule would you use as far as running the rest of the week to keep up on the cardio but have fresh legs. The course is flat and fast so I want to be fresh and really see what I got in me ??? What days and what kind of mileage would you put in?

This is just an opinion/option as you know I am no expert, but after training legs on Monday, I would do a 6 miler on Wednesday, and then a very easy 2-3 miles on Friday, then Saturday off.

Personally, I would forego the leg workout on race week bro... Monday 5 mile tempo run at 80% of race pace. Wedensday 3 mile run at race pace. Friday, 15 minute easy run, saturday chill... That's just my opinion...

the day before the race?  I wouldn't run at all.  just chill.  drink water.

I did a 6 miler on Wednesday before my Sunday half last week...not sure it helped or hurt anything since I was otherwise unprepared.

what Dan said, but if you do train legs on Monday, take Tuesday completely off to rest, and then ramp down the rest of the week.... good luck!
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

me I don't do diddly race week.  Maybe a 3 miler wednesday and a couple on friday just trying to stay loose.  You're not going to lose any fitness and you're better off feeling like a million bucks race day.  But that's me, and I struggle to recover - if I do a tempo run, I still feel it a few days later...
