Wow, that was quite a ride! Glad to see you were able to self talk and do some "HTFU" to yourself about the cramping. I have been finding myself doing the same thing when I am suffering training in the heat. That time is sooooooo impressive! You really showed so much heart that day, out of fluids, electrolytes, and food and still kept going and hoped for the best. Just Awesome, no way I could keep up with you on that distance.

I haven't even been on a bicycle in about 20 years, but my brother is an avid distance rider for various charities.  When you mentioned the Ride Across Indiana, I thought it was going to be something like the ride across Iowa--I don't recall the acronym.  However, you seem to be describing a race rather than a ride.  I live in South Jersey and every year we watch the big pro race in Philly on TV.  That's where I see the peleton forming and reforming.  But, these are professional teams.  If you are not part of a team, you will have difficulty keeping up with the leaders.

You did great and I commend you for your efforts.  Now you may want to examine whether you want to enter more races or if you'd rather concentrate on rides.
