The first part of the day had an awesome marine layer, which helped the pros smash the course record.
Take a look at the 21 minute swim time for Andy Potts.
The pros started at 6:30 a.m. Once they got out of the water, I stayed around took some more pictures, then walked to my car to drive to the t2 area. Parked my car and headed up to the top of the hill for the bike ride. For the competitors that would be mile 46 or so. I got to the top of the hill from the other side at the same time as the first pro wa****ting the top.

I am so very happy. I feel very well set up for IMC in a few weeks. I know what I have to do to get there -- work on a faster bike time, build up my run mileage -- and I know my strategy for the race is going to work.
I also found out that I am not pushing myself enough on my bike rides. I was able to average 15.3 miles per hour here and I am usually in the 13-14 mph range. I am going to start treating my Thurs. tempo ride as a race and see if that helps.
