small weight gain...am I doing this right????
Hello
So after reading a post just like this a few weeks ago I decided to follow some of advice I read in that post.
So after being plateaued for a month I decided to shake things up a little. Some suggested to another person with the same problem to increase the weight lifting. So I was weight lifting all along but I was only toning. Well lately I have been changed over to building muscle...figuring after years of yo-yo dieting and obesity my muscle could use some building. I have increased the weight I lift, decreased the reps, increased the sets (confusing I know). I want to make sure I am doing this right.
Well after 3 weeks I have gained 2 lbs and only lost about 1 1/2 inches. I am doing this right??? Should I be gaining...should I be losing more inches???
What my workout schedule looks like is...I workout 90 minutes a day, 6 days a week. I do intervals 45 minutes and 35 minutes of weight lifting and 10 minutes of stretching. My weight lifting is alternating lower body and upper body.

Losing inches is the main thing. It means you are both burning fat and building muscle. I wouldn't worry about the scale because the point is to be smaller. No one knows what our scale says, they only know what they see.
Plus 2 pounds is noise.
