Saturday morning workout....
Just work at increasing your mileage a little bit every two weeks. Before long, you're doing 5 miles, then 7, and then... Slow and steady increases works the mileage, and shouldn't impact your knees and legs. Good luck. Posting to this site also helps keep you accountable. Lots of great support on this site.

60 mile bike followed by a 20 minute brick run. The hawk's hatch-lings must have hatched this week, I almost got attacked (dive bombed) by 2 different hawks, 1 while I was on my bike and another one while I was running, on the way home we noticed there were hawks circling all over the place.

Its evening now, but got in a 3.2 mile walk outside. Went with a friend, so it was a little on the slow side, but it's better than nothing.

All I could muster was a 31 mile ride in 1:27:15... Allergies, congestion, physically drained = blah... Going to rest up, get better and pick it up next week...
