Finally made a decision about my hernia repair and races
So hubby and I are doing a 5K Labor Day with our son. My son's first, but he wants to try one with us. I'm so excited. He's 16 and doesn't ever want to do anything with us.
Then I figure we'll do the San Jose Rock and Roll Half Oct. 2nd, then my coworker and I will do the Run Surf City Half in Southern Calif. Oct. 9th. Then I'll go in for my hernia repair and get the LBL and thighs done too. 8 weeks of recovery, then I'll have time to train for the February and May Run Surf City Halves so I can also get my Calif. medal. Have to do three of them in sequence to get the CA medal too. I even made the call to my PS today to schedule the surgery so we can start the paperwork.
So of course, now that I've made a decision, my hernia has been acting up last night and tonight to the point where I've needed to take one of my son's Tylenol with codeine for the pain. Would you believe it?! I'm a little worried, especially with my Half Marathon on Sunday, but it's fine during the day and surprising fine when I'm exercising. But why now?
Anyway, I feel a lot better having a set time frame to get it fixed. I'm even starting to look forward to getting rid of all this excess skin.

hopefully once your body gets used to the idea that you've made a decision, the hernia will relax a little.
Sounds like you've got a great event schedule!!

I hope your hernia will hang in there - I guess you can just keep exercising to keep the pain away
