This is a reminder about next years Disney Marathon and 1/2 Marathon
Let me know if you are coming or have confirmed your registration so we can get a head count.

I may be a scratch for this event.  My mother passed away last weekend and the funeral arrangements has destroyed my savings.  Right now it looks like every bit of my vacation plans/money are gone.  The chances of recooping or reaccumulating that savings is not looking like it is going to happen.

O.K. we are looking at 2012 DisneyWorld 1/2, Full, or Goofy challenge:
Scott (Seht)  Confirmed Marathon  (May have to drop)
Bill McArthur (McArthur) Confirmed Goofy Challenge
Marie (MacMadame) Confirmed Goofy Challenge
Andrew (Andrew M.) Confirmed Goofy Challenge
Sue D. and boyfriend are Confirmed Goofy Challenge.

Dan  (DANCBJAMMIN)
Christie (MRS. DANCBJAMMIN)
Cassie (Cassie W.)
Katie (Katie H.)
Kathy (Kathy P.)
Mary (Morgansmommy) Maybe
Jo (bsophie)
Scott (Scott William)

I am especially sorry to hear about your Mom & am sorry about what that means to your plans for the event.

I don't think I will be ready for the 1/2, not sure I can maintain the pace average required.  However, I am still thinking about going just to yell everyone else on at the finish; it's only a 6 hour drive for me.  I would love to meet those here who inspire me everyday; hate the thought of not getting to meet you Scott.

I am creating my own revolution and PAMdemonium reigns!

I am sorry about your mom.

I am a definate maybe. My husband will be deployed and today my employer notified us of impending layoffs. 300-350 out of 9400 employees will be let go by October 7th. I have been there nearly 24 years but am not in a position that is protected by seniority.

Oh I am sorry to hear that, I have been through that with my last two employers.
3 rounds of layoffs before the company closed at the last place, then the city I work for now has been downsizing.

I'm kind of waiting on that hammer to drop too.  Luckily I have some senority protection and I can bump back down to any other position I have done within the city, which means the chances of being jobless are small, but I would take a pay cut that would be significant.

Thanks, I will probably not lose my place of employment, but there will definately be changes one way or another. Pay cut, longer commute, and worst case scenario is going back to bedside nursing. I absolutely love the field of nursing but do not want to go back to the bedside. My back and neck are messed up from 20 years there already. I am a nurse educator now which is the best job I have ever had.
Not much I can do but see what happens and remember to be grateful for what I have. I know others on the board are without a job or their spouse and many others like us are waiting to see if we will lose our jobs.

So sorry to hear about your mother. I can't imagine what you are going through right now.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to scratch the event as well. Ironman Louisville has, and is going to, destroy our savings, and we will not be able to recoup the savings after Louisville, my husband is an E-5 in the Army, and I can't seem to get hired anywhere, so we don't make a whole lot. Plus we want to give our 2 little girls a great Christmas, and I promised when I started this endurance lifestyle that I would never put any race before our kids. I hope to be able to register for 2 half ironmans next year, but not sure if that will happen. I'm sorry if I have disappointed anyone. I am about 5 hours from Disneyworld, and on the way there off of the 95, so if anyone needs to stay free anywhere overnight on the way down, feel free to stop on by.

Jillian, thats a great reason to not go.  I like to make sure my son always has a great Christmas and Birthday.
Megan and I were going to pass on Christmas for each other or keep it in the spare change price range for each other, but still give Caden the kind of Christmas celebration we want him to have.

Good luck with your ironman events.

I am just assuming I can afford it when the time comes. I'm out of work now...

I have a question: what's the deadline for submitting your time so you don't have to start with the big masses of people who have no idea when they'll finish? (I know I could look it up but I'm feeling lazy.)
