Zoots! I love them! The only shoe I have found that doesn't irritate my ITBS

My first few pairs were Saucony Omnis. They provide lots of support for pronation and heavier runners. Now that I'm no longer heavy, I bought a pair of Asics Gel Trainers. I really love them. The lacings are shaped to the top of your foot. They feel so light and fast! :)

Each season Runner's World online provides a shoe review. Also, once you know what you want, you can go to Running Warehouse online and see what size you would wear in different brands compared to what you currently wear.

I had Nike, tried Newton, went back to the exact same Nike and they have changed something and I hate them. They hurt my feet and give me blisters!

I had a similar experience with Asics one time.  I ordered the same exact shoe that I was currently wearing including the same size and width along with the model.  They were an online order.  About a half mile into my first run with them my feet were killing me.  They were very narrow.  I re-checked the size when I got home and it said they were the same that I was previously wearing.  I had to send them back.  Since then I really try to buy from my local stores just becsause you never know and I want to feel them before I buy.

I bought mine at the same store I bought the originals. But the gal wasn't as helpful as the original person who helped me. I am going to go back if changing out my inserts doesn't work for me.

Last year, my  Newtons gave out two weeks before my IM. So not enough time to break in new running shoes. I am not going to make that mistake this time.

Mine are Asics too. I go to a shop where all of the salespeople are podiatrists and they put you on a treadmill to assess your walking/running style (depending on what you want the shoes for) and suggest the best style for you.

You don't often end up with the 'pretty' ones, but really who cares about what your running shoes look like? I'd rather finish a run without pain in my knees/hips.

Since losing weight I have landed in some Saucony ProGrids that I love.  I do want to go get fitted for a pair this fall, and will try on every pair in the store to find whatever works best. I am not brand loyal, I am loyal only to what feels good ON.  I have worn Brooks when I was heavy, and found them highly durable.

I also really enjoy my Vibram Five Fingers.  :)

My boyfriend was fitted for running shoes and has a nice pair of Mizuno.
