I am waiting for approval and want to do anything and everything to be ready. I have stopped drinking soda not easy since a normal day was at least 12 or 13 cans but cold turkey and only drinking water or zero calorie drinks! My problem is exercise I am a pre-school teacher so I am on the move most of the day and by the time I get home I am dragging I know I need to do something but the 4 pages of work-out they gave me is a little over whelming. So I guess I am looking for suggestions on were to start.

When i started pre-op, I started walking. It's free, and you can do it anywhere! You can go at your own pace, for how ever long you are comfortable. You don't need to do a lot of fancy workouts to get the benefits. You don't even need a gym to do some strength training if you wanted. I did a lot of walking before surgery and even did a 5K a month before surgery. I started at 420lbs so I know it's not easy, and even sometimes painful BUT definitely worth it.

If you are too tired after work, try a walk before work or at lunch if possible. Sometimes you just wont feel like it but once you get into a routine it will be easier to convince yourself to get up and get going.

Way to go on cutting out the soda - that's a difficult task right there.

I know the exercise can seem overwhelming.  What I think you should try is to start small and keep adding and extending your exercise regimen.  So if your doctor's regimen seems overwhelming to you take a part of it and do that for a week.  Then the next week add a little more.  When I first started I was walking for 30 minutes and that slow 30 minute walk made me sweat like a pig.  Every week I added 5 minutes to the time and I walked a little faster.  Exercise isn't easy if it was then we would all be doing it.

I exercise after work for 90 minutes a day.  I too used the excuse of being too tired after work.  Especially since I work 10-12 hours a week.  But this excuse was just holding me back.  When exercise finally became a part of my daily life I found out something weird.  Exercise actually gave me energy.  As tired I may have felt before the exercise I always feel energized and relaxed after I workout.  More importantly I feel great about myself.

I now ALWAYS workout no matter what and I feel great.  That feeling of total exhaustion you feel will be history after awhile.
