xpost Exercise and feeling drained

In the last month I have really stepped up my exercise.  A new Y opened in our neighborhood and it is awesome.  Our whole family enjoys spending time there, which is a dream come true for me.  Anyway, I have really beefed  up my exercise and now will spend 1 1/2 hours in the gym.  I spend about 45 minutes doing cardio and 45 minutes lifting weights.  One thing I've noticed is that I am getting extremely fatigued and feel like eating everything in sight.  It got me to thinking that maybe I'm not eating enough to support these kinds of activities.  However, I have not lost any weight, which annoys the hell out of me because I still have 10 pounds to lose to reach my goal.  I do make sure to have a protein shake and I do make sure to eat lots of protein on these days when I'm exercising however, I am also really craving the carbs.  Here is what a typical day looks like for me, eating wise:
B - egg, sausage on a 1/2 of a bagel thin
snack: sometimes nuts, sometimes turkey jerkey or fruit
lunch:  some type of dense protein like leftover steak, chicken, etc. and veggies
snack - same as above
dinner: again, dense protein or last night I made beef enchiladas and ate 1/2 of 1.
late snack: cheese and couple crackers

I generally have my protein shake after I work out.

Yesterday, I could not keep my hands out of the snacks.  I was feeling really drained with a total lack of energy.  I worked out at about 2 in the afternoon and afterwards all I wanted to do was take a nap and eat everything in sight.

So a couple questions:  1.  am I not eating enough?  Should I encorporate more good carbs on days when I'm exercising?  How the hell can I get the scale to move again??

Thanks for all your help!  You all rock!

When I marathon or half marathon train my appetite becomes ravenous. It is the long runs that make me want to eat everything in sight. I usually gain weight during long distance training. When I do 3-4 mile runs each day my appetite is better and more easily controlled.

It's my guess that your body is asking for more to eat and that would also help with fatigue.

I also do 1 1/2 hours a day of exercise, 6 days a week.  I did have a problem after I started to run where I wasn't able to get through my workouts without feeling fatigue, light-headness and dizzy.  It was suggested I eat a snack before my workout.  I was told to eat something with good healthy complex carbs about 30-45 minutes before my workout.  And also drink a protein drink after your workout it curbs some of the hunger.

So now I have 4 apple slices and a tablespoon of peanut butter 45 minutes before my workout. and after my workout I have a protein drink.  It's been working for me and gives me more energy so I can push myself harder.

I too have about 10 pounds to go.. my scale hasnt move in almost a month.. I exercise regularly... I think with MOST people the last 10 is very hard. I try to focus more on my ability, strength, and how I feel more than the number on the scale. I am working on toning and gaining muscle so my runs can improve in length and speed. I figure the fat is still melting but being replaced with new muscle. I can see how much better my legs and arms look.

Recently I was feeling tired etc.. had blood work done.. anemic.. Now on a new iron regimen, its better.. Maybe your body needs something more like Iron?

Also, you should add some carbs, I think.. maybe adding another 1/2 bagel thin before your workout or some fruit .. I really have to make sure I increase my overall calories too.
