Jogging vs Running
Anything faster than walking is running. A jog is a kind of run. It tend to be slower and kind loping. But it's still running. It's just slow running.
There are people who will try to tell you that you aren't a real runner if you don't run x minute miles. Just stick your tongue out at them. They are being elitist to make themselves feel better IMO.

Repeat after me: I AM A RUNNER, I AM A RUNNER!!
My old slow ass is always going to be a "slow" runner, but I'm a runner none the less. The heart is pumping, I'm sweating and I'm moving faster than a walk, slower that the youngsters on the path, and at a pace that I enjoy...........which is key to me continuing to do it long term....I'm in my 2nd year now, so I guess I've found the recipe for success (for me).
Happy running!!
Kim

Kim,
Thanks.. I am a RUNNER!! I promise to keep it up. I currently run 4.5 miles per hour for 3.1 miles on Sundays and Thursday. Mon, Tue, - 1 mile run with 1-4 miles walks , Wed & Fri- rest days. I want to work up to 6.0 mile per hour.. Every week, I try to up the speed a little.. I weight train 2xs a week.. trying to build up my legs, core and arms.
I think once I get my ferritin and RBC up to normal, I'll feel like an Olympian!
I am a runner.. I am a runner.. my new mantra.. again thanks KIM

I agree with the if it isn't walking you are running.
As for the elitists I don't stick my tongue out, I show them they are number 1 with a simple hand gesture

I'm not sure what jogging is. I initially thought it was a speed thing, but no, it's not. Then I thought it was a social thing, but no, running is social too (or can be). I now think it might be an intention thing. If you don't want people to take you seriously, or have expectations of your running, you call it jogging. If you are confident in your running (whether it be fast, slow, a race, a training run or just for fun), you call it running.
I am a RUNNER. I am social, I am fast, I am slow, I sometimes have to walk, I train, I race, I do it for fun, I do it til it hurts, I do it for me, I do it for charity, and sometimes I go "barefoot". But it's RUNNING.
