new pre-race dinner, lots of protein and chocolate
My son just finished his sophomore year of High School, 4.0 and ranked #2 in his class (ok, so I have to brag). To celebrate, we took him and his friend (since older son is off at college) to La Fondue, a local very fancy fondue place. Had the spinach salad, dressing on the side (ate only half of it). Cheese fondue, stayed away from the bread and just used fruit and veggies. Different types of meats grilled or cooked in a spice wine (duck, wild turkey, buffalo, wild venison) and grilled veggies. So far so good and lots of protein. Then we ended with chocolate fondue. Ok, I don't do pasta, very little breads except for whole wheat, ... But dark chocolate is a good carb, isn't it? And it was really good fondue, especially with strawberries and bananas. Fruits are good before a race, right? Tomorrow we have an 11 mile training run and we're suppose to be practicing how we will prepare for the race. So we'll see how well the chocolate holds me for the run/walk tomorrow. If I'm good, maybe it should be a future part of all my pre-race preparations.

Hope it works I love that stuff. Thankfully, all the places I've been to have super small portion sizes so it's not all that bad.

We went to La Fondue for my "last meal", so to speak. I was happily surprised to see that I could still enjoy going there.
Training was hard but for other reasons.
How did the surgery go? Glad to see you back. How are you feeling? Doing?
