Poll: Music while working out
So, I'm just curious as I have noticed that the people who come in first during the races I've participated in (5k, 8k) don't listen to music.
How many of you do or do not listen to music when you run or work out?
I typically do listen to my iPod but just lately I've left it at home and allowed myself to get lost in my thoughts. Its kinda cool...

I used to, but when I started training for the ironman, I knew you couldn't, so I stopped. Now I find I really enjoy not having the music. I have my own soundtrack going in my head :) The sounds during a race are pretty cool, especially out where there are no crowds and its just the runners. For me my first half without headphones earlier this year was like a whole new experience.
Currently I do but I know as I get closer to doing a Tri I will need to stop. RIght now Linkin Park sounds better than me Gasping for air .

i train with music except the bike (too dangerous on the roads i ride) and i wear an ipod during running only races. tri's you can't so i don't. doesn't seem to affect my races not to have music even though i train with it on the run.
Where are we going?? And why am I in this handbasket??
right now. somewhere. somebody is working harder than you.
