I Have a Herniated Disc
I have been having back/hip/leg pain for 9-10 weeks. About 5 weeks ago I finally went in to have it checked out, and was told to see a chiropractor. The chiropractor told me that I most likely have a herniated disc, however, I have not had any x-rays, CT scan, or MRIs done, so who knows for sure. I have been improving very slowly, but steadily over the past 5 weeks with chiropractic, physical therapy, and gentle massage therapy. I have only been walking on the treadmill, as I was told not to run at all. Do any of you have any experience with this type of thing, and if you do, I am wondering what other things I can be doing to workout?? Can I use a weight machine? Can I swim? Any suggestions at all would be helpful! Thank you in advance!
That would be a question best answered by your Chiro

I think you should get the X-rays, MRI or CT done before you pin yourself down to a diagnosis.
It could be more or less serious that is being estimated.
Once that is done, then ask them their opinion.
Take it with less than a grain of salt, but exercises in the pool are generally favorable as they are reduced stress and generally not very much in the way of weight bearing,
Talk to the physical therapis see what exercises/stretches etc they recommend if any for you.
However like I said without you actually having the radiology work done, it's all just speculation.
