Do you eat before working out?
Always.
I do more carbs than protein before a workout as I am shooting for performance and endurance. I have tried workingout without doing some carbs and it always lands me in trouble, even a Granola bar or banana will get me most of what I need. I usually eat about 60-30 minutes before a workout.

If I workout in the morning then no, but I drink a lot of water during the workout. Part of the reason is I take a thyroid and wait 2 to 2 1/2 hours before I can eat so it's better to wait for afterwards.
If I'm doing a really long walk/run/race, I do have a gu 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before and a banana.
If I work out when I get home from work, then I just eat my regular foods all day.

I don't remember what it's called, low acting thyroid? My mom has it too. Been on meds for it since my teenage years. I take a 150mcg of levothyroxine tablet every day and my labs have come back normal for years. You need to take it on an empty stomach and wait two hours before eating so I take it when I first wake up.

Yes and No,
If I am going to eat before I work out, it is at least an hour if not 2 hours before the workout.
If it is close in time, it is probably a protein shake and or a protein bar.
I just can't run with food in my stomach.
If I am going on an extended bike ride, multiple hours out to a location where there may not be restroom facilities, then it's usually closer to the 2 hour mark between eating and working out.
I want to give time for the food to settle and make sure that I don't have any GI issues.
For a long bike ride day
Steele cut oats, piece of bread with PB2, piece of fruit like a banana or some blueberries.
I shoot for 300-400 calories.

Thanks for the responses. I usually work out in the am and I don't really like breakfast anyway, except pancakes of course--and I'm steering away from that, naturally. So, I'm almost sure that I can be satisfied with something light like a piece of fruit, yogurt, some nuts or a protein bar/granola bar. I ALWAYS have about a quart of water with 25g of protein added DURING my workout. I hope that's a good thing.
