71 mile ride.  I was purposely trying to keep my HR down per my coach, seems I might have overdone it.  In any event, by the end of the ride I was totally spent and my neck is in agony.  Feels good to be inching closer to the IM distance.  Not sure I am gonna do these monster climbs anymore on these long ones.   http://connect.garmin.com/activity/90086432

10 run/walk today.  It's pouring rain.  When they predicted rain this weekend, we thought it would only be a light drizzle.  Well, it was raining but not too bad in the beginning.  Beautiful trail, the river was really flowing.  Felt like I was traveling through a rain forest.  At the lake, there were hundreds of Canadian Geese and their babies.  My knee has been bothering me but I remembered my knee strap and did pretty well for the first 5 1/2 miles, 14 minute mile average which is great for me.  But on the back 4 miles, I had to walk the rest of the way because my knee was hurting too much.  And it starting raining harder and harder.  I was soaked totally through by the time we got home.  Had to peel everything off and get into a hot shower because I was starting to shiver.  Feel bad for all those outdoor June weddings, graduation parties, Art and Wine festivals etc planned for tonight.  It's never rained in June in Northern Cal before.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend.

Local 5k race - I'm not a heat runner and it was 70 degrees with no shade. I think I would prefer to run a half marathon than a 5k. It feels so frantic. I PR'd though! 28:08
