I mean seriously, this is too funny...

Went to brunch today with a group of women for a going away party for one of them.  This one lady I haven't seen since our kids were in elementary school together.  Afterwards, the conversation went something like this:

Her:  "You look so amazing, what are you doing?"
Me:  "I've become an exercise fanatic, work out like 6 days a week."
Her: "I was afraid you were going to say that."
Me: "Yeah, I do weights twice a week, 5-7 miles on my elliptical 2-3 times a week, walk/jog 3-4+ miles twice a week and train for a half marathon on the weekends, doing 10 miles tomorrow."
Her: "I'm exhausted just hearing it"
Me: "I did 50 minutes of weights and 5 miles on my elliptical before brunch this morning."
Her: "Wow, now I need to go home to take a nap."

She's not overweight, maybe 10 pounds or so but she's so tall, I can't really tell.  Her kids are in school and she doesn't have job.  But the thought of exercise of any kind exhausts her.  Guess I was once there, though my weight made exercise really hard for me.  But if you want the results, you've got to put in the time...

That's awesome, good for you! People like her just don't understand what it takes for us to look like "them". They take it for granted, we can't.

Very true. I love to watch jaws drop when they ask what kind of workouts I do.
