I was also told that sometimes you hit a wall because if you are still in your weight loss phase of your workout you could be eating too few calories to fuel your workout....hence your body poops out on you during your workout.  That said, it is ok to push yourself....but stop if you start feeling ill.  That's how I know I'm at my limit.  I feel lightheaded and dizzy and even sick to my stomach sometimes.  You might want to add a small snack 30-45 minutes before your workout and make sure you are getting adquate fluids.  I eat 4 slices of apple and a tablespoon of peanut butter.  I have been told this is a great mix of complex carbs and protein.

Good luck
Thanks for the feedback!  So I wonder if legs burning and being out of breath is a good sign of being at my limit or are those signs I should keep pushing forward?

First off welcome and and dont be afraid to ask any question.  The people on this board is the best!

I have been exercising daily for the past year and half, and nearly every session is painful.  Not painful like injury, but I push my self to to an uncomfortable place.  Some days that point is disappointing, some days it beyond expectations.  Thats how I have built indurance.  Push your self a little more or a little farther every day and never settle for the normal.

In time your (or at least mine does), your body will welcome exercise like this and you will feel better afterwards than it will the days you do nothing at all.

Good luck.

Welcome ! I will echo everyone else. Also keep in mind if this was EASY everyone would be doing it. I have found that the really hard things in life are the most rewarding.

I couldn't agree more.  I love the quote, "Nothing worthwhile is ever easy and nothing easy is ever worthwhile."

I have used interval training to increase my endurance and to push myself to become a faster, stronger runner.  This has pushed me to achieve goals I never thought I could reach.  It's much more manageable for me to increase my speed in short bursts and this method has increased both my speed and endurance for the long haul.  When I get proficient at one level I bump it up a small notch.  I googled "fartlek training" and got some great interval schedules that have helped me a lot.

I am exactly like you in the sense that sometimes I get to a point where I think I have maxed out my potential.  That's when I look for new ways to approach the matter.  C25K is great for some, but a little to "prescribed" for me.  When I am not right on track I get a little discouraged and feel like a failure so I tend to lean more toward setting my own goals that are attainable for me.

I NEVER thought I'd be able to run EVER so the fact that I am doing it now is like a dream come true!  Keep pushing yourself just a small notch above where your at right now and you will get there.  BABY STEPS add up to BIG STRIDES!

Thank you for the tip!  It's good to have more than one option and also I know that I need to keep taking those baby steps.  Part of the reason I may not be making good strides is my workout schedule is inconsistent due to time pressures.  I try to do something active every day, and some days that might just be doing a lot of walking.  So perhaps the problem is my inconsistency in my workout schedule.
