Wow, a lot has been going on around here, I'm out of the loop, I will have to read all these new race reports tonight when things are calm.
Made it to my parents house in Maryland yesterday morning. While I was napping my husband called me telling me they overbooked the 8-week leadership course he was supposed to start in Fort Lee Virginia and him and 7 other guys were sent back to their duty stations. So basically, they sent him 500 miles away from home for no reason, so he had to go right back home to South GA, and had to go back to work the next day. This is pure insanity. We then found out that the education guy in his unit was supposed to have been calling the school weekly to make sure my hubby had a slot, and that he was good to go and make the trip. The school knew all along my husband and the 7 other guys weren't making it in,since they were on a wait list status, and if the education guy in his unit would have been doing his job, this whole situation could have been avoided. What gets me is this education guy, that's his sole job, to make sure everyone is good with schools and to make sure government money is not wasted sending people to schools they don't have slots for. FAIL.
Anyway, today I went to the YMCA in town here to swim, and after getting my chops busted for 20 minutes, they called the YMCA where I live to confirm I am a member and that I do pay my membership dues, even though I showed them my membership card, I then had to fill out paperwork, which was annoying, and then the clerk told me I can use the facility for free, which if I had to pay I would have just left, I already pay $50 a month to use the YMCA, I just expected it wouldn't be a problem if I was just visiting another location. For my Thursday swim I'm just going to make the drive to the Army post here and use their pool. I drove my car up here so I have the DOD decals on it.
