I would like to get a treadmill, whats a good one?
After about 6 mo's going to our local park district to use there tread mill I have discovered they have no air conditioning for the summer. I would like to get a good treadmill for my house. I have 3 men in my house who are also large so I would like to get a good one that will not break.
Should I invest in one from those places that come and set it up in your home. If it does not work as well as the ones in the gym I might not use it as much is my concern.

I think purchasing a treadmill is like buying a boat...
The two happiest days of your life are the day you bought it and the day you sold it. LOL I love that line. Anyways, I sometimes have to use the treadmill because of nasty weather here in Texas, but barring that, I would not be caught dead on one. I truly cannot stand the treadmill. Anyways, I think you should go to a fitness store and get their recommendations on a solid treadmill. Obviously, the cheapest solution would be to go for walks or runs in your neighborhood early in the mornings or in the evenings.
I know some folks on the board love treadmills and you might too! Best of luck in finding the right one for you and your family, and best of luck on your journey to fitness and a new lifestyle...

I have a treadmill I only use as a backup when I am not at the gym. I go to the gym at work for free and it's 20 miles away. So on the weekend if the weather doesn't permit I run on my treadmill. I bought it off a friend for $100. But it sounds like your looking for something more for everyday use that will need to sustain some abuse and keep on running. I found this website. Not sure if it will help with your decision.
