take the duct tape and write your name across your chest on race day.  People will cheer for you and call out your name while you run.  (see my blog, I've done this, it works and is fun and motivating)

I have been known to picture myself running and chasing down that fat *****  She chases me after I pass her, but she can't catch me, because i can RUN.

Just do it.  You can do hard things - you lost all that weight, and it was hard.  Now you can run 5 miles.  DO IT!
Read my blog, BARIATHLETE   I run because I can.

I read your blog and saw that you wore a shirt with your name on it!  I've never really brought anyone with me to cheer me on--5ks were always something I just pretty much did alone.  This time around, I will have my daughter and possibly a couple of friends at the finish line.  God knows I would die of embarassment if I didn't fini****so I know that will help inspire me!

Fat girl is always there and it takes mental thought to remind myself that I'm no longer her and I can walk/run. It's funny because yesterday I was walking with a girlfriend and our shadows were stretched out in front of us. It took me a minute to realize how skinny my shadow was! I'm use to it being so big and fat and round, I haven't really noticed it before since I've lost all the weight. Must be the sun was just right yesterday. But there it was, long and skinny looking nice and normal. Couldn't stop looking at my shadow.

I think 80% of the race is mind over matter. You have so got this! Go have fun.

I have finished Ultras, Ironmans, endurance swims, etc... And I STILL don't feel like I am one of "Those" athletes. Heck, I still go to sit in a booth at a restraunt and think to myself that there is no way I am going to fit in that seat. Fat head lingers for a while, but just go on and rip up your race and you will come to know that every step you take running, takes you further away from that person you USED to be. ROCK THIS MUTHA, GIRL!!!!
