56.5 mile bike ride, about 10 miles in I saw a lady with a road bike stranded on the side of the road with a flat. I stopped to help her change it and gave her my spare tube, she got up and rolling again and I was glad I could help.
Its been a rough day, this morning before my ride started my husband left for an 8-week leadership school in Virginia. His school date kept getting moved around, and unfortunately he won't be able to be there for my first HIM in Muncie on July 9th, but he is able to take leave for Ironman Louisville so he will be there, which if I could only have him there for one or the other I would rather him be there for the ironman. Loraine, my best friend I mention frequently in my race reports, will be there for both races, and she is from Muncie, that is the main reason for signing up for the HIM in Muncie, the cool factor that Loraine is from there, and the free lodging with her parents is nice too.
My parents live in Maryland, we are going up there to visit on Tuesday, Joel (my hubby) will drive over there and spend the weekend with us. My parents want to see me do a triathlon, and there just happens to be a sprint tri about an hour from them on the 29th, so they are paying my entry fee for it so they can see me in a race, so for one day I will have a sponsor (mom and dad). I hope race well that day and make them proud.

Jillian,
I bet your parents are already so proud of you that anything else you do is just icing on the cake. Bummer about the half but I'm glad he'll be there for your IM. Can't believe you are doing both. You are my inspiration!

Did my first tri this morning. It was bike, run, and breakfast. Felt good since it was my first time back on the bike since my infamous accident. It felt wierd being back on the bike but managed to get in 18-miles. Convinced myself that there is no "I" in scared. Followed the bike ride with a 4-mile run, also my first run since the accident. The knee and hip held up well. Shoulder and back were sore, but felf fine for now.
Felt good to be back out there.
