holding out some hope

Just got the call, and my MRI is set for late this morning.  My shoulder has been doing ok, and the pain has diminished some, not sure if it is due to the pain meds, the fact it is in a sling with no pressure or I simply don't move it.  The reduce in pain seems to have come with a redcution in the range in motion I can only hold it parallel with the ground any more and the pain increase significantly.

I have been doing some light stretching of it not trying to pu**** to far but pushing it some.  I am hoping it is nothing serious and keeping a small sliver of hope that I can  get some movement or enough movement back by the 5th.  To at least grunt through my race and not have to call it off completely, but have accepted that the doctors call will be final and probably won't allow for it.

But I am running my 5K tomorrow I know I can do that much.

Hope the MRI goes well and the only thing you need is a little rest time.  I know you're disappointed in not being able to participate in the sprint tri but you know you will be back better than ever.  I read your post and a response over on the men's board.  No disrespect to the guy making the response, but he obviously didn't know what kind of motivated athlete he was dealing with.

Good luck,
Mike

Good Luck Paul- I hope the docs have some good news for ya, but whatever the prognosis...I hope you listen and don't pu**** so hard that you risk some bigger or more permanat injury. It's not easy to be on the sidelines though..I get that!

Hope you get some good news from the MRI, I bet you are on the edge of your seat. I had to back out of a December 10k because of ITBS so I know how much this sucks for you. I know you will do just awesome at your 5k tomorrow.
