More than walking???
Agreed. I tried to jump back in at three weeks and was rewarded with a major setback and much pain. Take it easy and just walk.
My doc cleared me for the gym at six weeks with the exception of abdominal work. Then at ten weeks cleared me for ab work and pretty much anything except sparring (in karate) and getting thrown to the ground or punched in the stomach. And jumproping. Two more weeks on the jump roping.

Yeah just take it easy and listen to your surgeon. You have a whole lifetime to live healthy and stay it, but first, you have to let your surgery heal properly

Thanks everyone :) It's nice to know that my frustration at feeling 'lazy' is normal! The worst bit is that I know I need to slow down and heal, but having worked in the medical field for nearly 20 years, I am a bit of a bad patient LOL Ended up with an infection on the large incision site nearest my stomach at less than a week post-op, so I am also climbing out of the infection as well. Feel like an overgrown toddler with puttering around for much of the day, but once I get tired, I crash completely and end up napping for an hour or two or going to bed early.
Tell my husband he has another dependent beyond the critters with me still healing :)

Be patient grasshopper! I am laughing because I was the same way! I was on my treadmill the day after I came home from the hospital, and back on the nautilus machines after 2 weeks (with dr. permission).
Listen to your doctors.....you have many years to be busting a sweat and getting ripped!
I am so proud you are making exercise a priority!! I truly believe it is the #1 most important key to long term good health and weight maintenance!!

LOL Trust me, I have heard "Be patient Grasshopper" from quite a few people! Patience is not one of my virtues ;) Did corner the office in to scheduling me for a short consult with the exercise physiologist when I go back for my one month post-op visit :) Want to see if they will be game to let me at least start biking and some upper body weights then.
Other than feeling 'lazy' by being so limited, the weight is already coming off fast enough (seem to be averaging 2-3 lbs a day the past few days) that I don't want to lose too much muscle mass. Not wanting to bulk up and buff out, but I would like to at least keep from having too much flappy loose skin going on!
As I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 26, I know I can and do bulk up quickly when I am working out. Don't want to be a female body builder, but I do want to keep the muscles I DO have around, prevent the boobies from sagging (tend to not lose much weight there, though I am noticing my bras don't fit around my chest already), and have the thighs and upper arms be presentable this summer :)
Yep, feeling lazy as well as being motivated by vanity! LOL
