Really mad!

So I have been working towards my first Tri next month (less than 3) . After shying away from the pool and the swim I begam putting in pool time, I'm not stellar but confident I can do the swim.  Been doin spin classes and logging bike time and the run is doable.  I finally hit a point where I know I can finish this thing.

Well fate sucks!  Shoulder was sore friday night but not to bad.  Wake up  Saturday and it hurts to move it, and Sunday was even worse.  The whole weekend was spent on ice or heat trying to get the pain to go away and get to the point where I can move it, but just not happening.

Today I go to the doctor and he checks it out and orders X-rays, which come back clean. So now he is thinking it is a rotator cuff issue and has ordered a MRI.  Best case shots and therapy but if it is rotator cuff it is going to be a lot of work.  Worst case is a torn rotator cuff that would require surgery,  Either way he doesn't see it getting better in the next couple weeks.  Even if it is not a tear he wants me not pushing it to prevent further damage.

Needless to say I am totally pissed right now.

HUGS!!!!  Sometimes life throws you a curve and it really sucks.  I hope it turns out to be nothing too serious and you have a quick recovery.  You deserve to be mad right now.

Sorry to hear that ;( I really hope you figure out what's going on and get better soon.

Even if you can't do the Tri next month, I am absolutely positive when you do one, you will rock it

make sure you get some extra opinions.  Keep your chin up bro.  Not sure if its possible, but if it is worst case, maybe you can still do duathlons this season.  But we'll pray and hope for just some muscular strain that will heal quick.

I have a feeling it is nothing major and I know you will be fine.

Welcome to the wonderful world of reality.  Keep your spirits up. Just got done another therapy session myself and still need to go back to the ortho for some more evaluations. They decided it was cheaper to drop me into an ice pool than wrap the individual pain areas. My PT told me today to call the ortho and alert them that I need an extended session to cover all the injuries from my cycling accident. They just keep popping up.

So even if you miss this one, spend the time getting stronger so you can try one in the fall.

You can still run and bike right???  Only the swiming involves strenuous arm movement.  Oh well...good luck I hope it turns out to be nothing at all.

It really does "suck" Paul...Hang in there!  Keep running and biking to stay in shape.  Don't let this completely derail you.  You're Tough.  Think of what you've already been through and what you've already accomplished!  You will over-come this little "blip" as well!

Run On!
