Hello Alex74. That is what I am thinking that will happen. I know it will when I get their. I will be shopping for one, so I can get in the swing of swimming again in my life. I have no swam in about 20 years at least. I am looking forward to it again. What do you mean by "Life won't suddenly be fun at your goal weight"?

I can't wait until I get to my goal weight. I can't remember when I weighed 200 pounds. I hope my skin can snaps back as much as it can while I am still loseing the weight.

Thank you Alex74 for the comment(s).

I believe what he is saying is that You need to make your life fun.  You have been giving a do over on a life that can be billed with fun and enjoyable activities, BUT it is up to you to just go out and do them.

Swimming can be fun but you will probably learn it isn't as easy as it once was, at least for me I don't swim.  I prevent drowning with slight forward momentum, but with work it is getting better, but I have made it better by doing it.

Life is going to be what you make of it, worrying less about society and enjoy the things you never could but always wanted.

That's what I thought he meant. I will. Thank you.

I know swimming can be fun. I loved it when I was a kid and still do to this day. once I get back in to swimming, guess I'll sign up for a swim lesson at the gym just to play it safe and to re-induce myself back into the swing of swimming again.

True about what you said about life. The way you said it, it reminded my of a line from the movie "Back to the Future part 3". About life that has not been written. And you can make it the way you want it to come out to be. Something like that. If you know what I mean.

"Life wont suddenly be fun at your goal weight".  Just taking a guess, I think the mental side of WLS can be harder than the physical side.  Society will treat you different.  You have a whole new set of problems that can really mess with your head if you're not grounded.  Your thinking if I'm just skinny I'll...fill in the blank.  There are a lot of transfer addictions since your old coping mechanism is gone (food).  Or if I just get a new car or boat or house or can swim in public..I'll be happy and content.  You need to be content now wheither things come or go...My 2 cents.

You may be right cabin111. There is one way to find out when I get their. Society can treat people different one way or another. True about that. True in what you are saying to me. I need to be content with the way my life is going now since I had weight lose surgery. Good advice. Thank you for your 2 cent worth of advice.
