Cardio or weights or both
I have been doing 45 min of cardio and then doing strength training. I have notice that I am losing inches and not pounds. I know I shouldn't get caught up with the number but it is hard not to. I don't think I am eating enough calories so I guess my question is what should I be doing? Should I lay off the weights and just focus on cardio until I get down of should I continue to do both and wait for things to happen whenever they happen
Do both and judge by your size and not the scale. My only complaint through my process was not lifting weights sooner. Hang on to every ounce of muscle you can even though it slows the scale. The best way to watch the scale move fast is to throw it away
No longer about weight , it's all about living.
I agree, I am almost 10 years out and I hate that my body fat is really high and I have very little muscle. If I could go back in time I would have been lifting way before now, but at least I am starting. I also agree to not focus on the scale, I gained 2lbs over the last month but my body fat went down by 1%. I will gladly take the scale going up to see the body fat decrease and my body get stronger :)
You need to do both.
Also, it not uncommon for weight loss to stop for a week or two after starting an exercise program or upping your intensity. It's water weight though and it evens out over time.
