no worries, you will get there much sooner. I always encourage folks to set two goals -a short term reachable, and a "mount everest" goal. So pick a 5k, then pick a 13.1 (soon as you think you can get through a 5k without walking much, I would aim for a half about 4-6 months out - just a suggestion). I did my first 5k in jan, first half in April and first full in Oct last year, and others have done much more than me, so it can be done!
