 Thanks Andrew...I need it...I wish I hadn't said anything, but I needed to be honest...it isn't for basic travel...Husband is in the military and we were getting stationed over there for 2 years...this is the first time I have wished (for a few seconds) that I had never had the surgery...:(

 sorry, I didn't mean to pry.  I guess its something no one would have thought of in the WLS decision process.  You are healthy and active and I am sure this is going to work out for you.  Keep the faith, you have a lot of support here on this board for what its worth!

 no prying...no worries...I don't mind...thank you so much for all your support...you prayers must already be working...I just got a promising phone call....still not sure yet...so keep it coming!!!!   And your right this is the BEST board!!!  It is the only one I post on!!!!

 I'm so sorry about Guam and your dog.  Maybe they feel the medical facilities on Guam are good enough?  Isn't this discrimination or something?  I really hope your dog will be ok.  My dog is 11 1/2 and outside of arthritis, doing well, but it's scary every time he gets sick.  They're our children.

Day 1 on an actual road bike. 3.5 miles then traffic on my roads got to be a bit much.

I don't remember riding a bicycle being this difficult.  Where I live is rather hilly shoot to get out of the neighborhood is about a 100ft climb. Few more times out and it hould get better, also need to learn to shift.

 what kind of bike you using?  You have clipless pedals? It took me a while to remmeber back how to stand up when climbing those tough hills.  Practice it in the spin class, it'll come back to you :)

using a Specialized.  Th part I am having the most truble with is the shifting.  Which lever shifts what and what button does what, and to add to the confsion is trimming after shftingthe front. eedto do some reading and a few more laps up and down my street. 

Oh and damn tho skinny ires take some getting used to.  I know it is like the pool and running I justneed to put my time in and make it happen.
