An update from me
Today I had my 3rd meeting with Nat at the YMCA. I had bypassed one of my goals for last month (walking 1.15 miles) and the other one I don’t know about yet. My other goal is to maintain or build muscle mass. I won’t know the results of this until my next InBody fitness assessment around the middle of this month. He added 3 more weight machines (leg curls, tricep press for flabby arms..yuck, and the pull down bar thingy). My weights increased on the crunches to 50 lbs and to 55 lbs on the rowing machine. Bench press stayed the same at 30 pounds. Shoulder press stayed at 15. I’m still doing 60 lbs on the leg press, but lowered the seat position so it’s a LOT harder. I feel the burn! I had to drop from 30 lbs to 10 (one leg at a time) on the machine where you straighten out your legs while sitting. I can’t think of what it’s called. My left knee has been babied for so long, it’s lost all it’s strength. 10 pounds was the lowest I could go, but it’s still hard. No problem with my right leg though. My next walking goal is 1.5 miles in 30 min or less.
All in all, I’m very satisfied with my progress. My ultimate goal is still to complete a 5k. I have 3 more months to be ready! Considering I couldn’t even stand for 10 minutes when I started this process, I feel really good about where I am!
A bonus picture for your enjoyment…my husband being silly while I’m trying to take a perfectly serious pic of my new hairdo..
