Chico Wildflower Ride

Yesterday I completed my 3rd century (this month -and well- ever!) but this was the first one that I did alone and not with a group of friends.

I rode out at 6:20 and got back in at 2pm, I only hooked up with a group for about 15min, otherwise I rode the entire thing alone. Now, that may not have been a big deal except the second half of the ride had headwinds and having no one to help share the load (i.e. draft off of) really sucked.

Plus, I missed the lunch stop...got a little lost, but over all it was a beautiful day and I'm so proud to have completed it.

There were some really sweet descents too, and I broke my record and clocked my top speed at 45.7mph!!! Ya know a bug to the face when you're going that fast really hurts....

My avg speed was 14.7, which is a little slow for me, but I didn't pu**** on the climbing at all. I took it slow because my calf was bothering me. There was over 5000 ft of climbing, which isn't amazing, but it's still a fair bit.

Today my calf really hurts and I can't walk well on it, so I'm RICE'ing it and hoping that I'll be able to do the Wine Country Century next weekend....we shall see

Wow, congrats! Sounds like a great ride. I think I'd be a little scared going that fast. Hope your calf heals fast.
