If your not eating what heck do you do on a date???

OK so for the first time in....well longer than I am willing to admit I am going on a first date.  I want ideas for things to do and places to go that don't include restaurants.  Restaurant are a bad habit for me that took a long time to break and I don't want to start it up again.  I don't like going out to eat because most of the time I am tempted to eat bad foods and even the good foods are cooked in oil or butter and they use lots of salt.  The portions are huge and the calories and carbs are high.  This is a serious weakness for me and if I start I guarantee I will do it more and more and I will gain weight.  Also I have the Band and when I am nervous I tend to get extra tight and I don't want to have to worry about eating a whole meal and have to run to the bathroom because I'm stuck.

So the only thing I can think of to do is a picnic in the park (with finger foods or fruit and veggies).  Which is fine in nice weather.  I want more ideas.  So what are some nice HEALTHY ideas to go on a first date.  It's funny how dates seem to revolve around food and eating.

The guy is really nice and told me to think about what I want to do and let him know.  Another thing, I don't want to go to the movies either.  That is not a place I want to go to talk to someone to get know them.  I also don't like coffee so coffee houses are out.

I know I am a pain in the ass.  Sorry...I'm getting nervous.

why not something that embraces your new active lifestyle?  A hike in a sceninc spot, a casual bike ride, a stroll through an art museum or gallery, ceramics

:)   Just  thoughts, I been married 20 years and with  kids, our idea of a date is just being anywhere the kids aren't :)

I agree with Andrew. Hubby and I like going miniature golfing. You might try bowling, maybe the theater or a concert. Andrew's ideas are also great. Hiking, museums, ... Or do you like to paint? We have one of those pottery places where you go paint a pot or something and they fire it for you.

Ideally, I think a nice hike and stopping for frozen yogurt (sugar free) would be nice. Or the picnic. Do you play tennis? bike?

Have fun!

When me and the hubby can escape the kids and go on a short date, we go to Starbucks, I get my shinny vanilla latte and we can just sit down, chat, and drink coffee. Go carts would also be fun.

The first date with my husband was ice skating. Was very nice, (but only if neither of you are very good )
