5k today

I want to start by saying yesterday was leg day. I peaked yesterday at 430x8 reps squating and 520x8reps on the leg press. After the 75 minutes of weights I topped it of with 100 floors on the stair machine. As you can tell I had no intent on running today. I got up this morning and did my weight routine with chest and tri's and when I seen the people walking around with the 5k shirts on I decided I had to do it. This was the same race as my first 5k a year ago. Last year I was running 6-8 miles a day and weighed 185. I finished at 29:57 last year. This year I am up 30 pounds and focusing on weights not my runs and finished in 27:28. This was nothing spectacular, finished 29 out of 382 and 3rd in my age group. It wasn't a PR for me either but it felt pretty dang good.
Thanks for reading this garbage and thanks all for inspiring me every day. You guys rock!

Nate,
YOU are inspiring! I absolutely need to start with some weight training for my osteopenia(what you get before Osteoporosis). I like your posts and advice about weights; thank you.
Congratulations on being spontaneous and taking two minutes off last year!
