Got into the doctor today. . .
I have a Gastrocnemius muscle tear. Minimum recovery time is 2-3 weeks and that is being incredibly optimistic. He said more likely 6-8 weeks and my half marathon is looking doubtful.
So sad. . .
Just wanted to give you all an update. Thank you to those that responded to my previous post. I truely appreciate the support

So sorry to hear that Shannon. When is your half marathon? Would you be able to walk it so you can at least go? But listen to your doctor. You want it to heal completely. Good luck!

Thanks Jan, the half marathon is June 18th. I was supposed to run a mother's day 10K on May 7th and that one is completely out of the question. I am hoping I can heal enough to run at least part of the half.
He said give it a few weeks and give it a go. He knows I'm anxious to get back to training so I'm to go ahead and try. If it re-injures then we know that it needs a long time to heal.
So bummed!
Thank you for your response!
