it's been about 30 months since my surgery.  I've stated to put weight back on...what do I do?
It's been a long winter here, and I haven't  been very active...that will change... should I be watching calories?  all the same things I used to hate doing before the surgery?

You have to find something that you can grab on too that you really enjoy. If you like to compete start entering races. Perhaps you could get into the habbit of hitting the gym before work. I made a goal of running at least a mile a day for a year and that was a great motivator. Something like that could work for you too.

Your past the honeymoon stage, so now you need to make sure that you watch your nutrition and exercise. If you cut the activity, you definitely to watch calories and carbs carefully. We've all failed at that pattern of behavior. It's easier just to increase the activities to maintain that healthy lifestyle. Find something you can do, especially in the winter months so you can keep motivated. Everyone acts as though weight gain is expected, but actually it's all under your control.

Mark, "employ" yourself as your own personal trainer!  Unemployment is hard on our self-esteem, I know, I've been there!  Even if you don't go to a job everyday, treat each work day as you would at the office.  Make a daily planner page that includes specified times for meal planning (try new recipes!), exercise (find things you like to do), chores and job hunting.

My day was more meaningful when I could review at the end of the day all of my accomplishments.  We are here for you and I wish you the best!  You can beat this, you've done it before and YOU ARE WORTH IT.
