What is it? How far do you have to go? Sounds like a charity thing which usually means that it's a walk. If you are walking already, add a long day where you add approximately a mile each week and that will give you the distance you need to complete it.

Yes, it's a charity for the American Cancer Society.
To be honest, I'm not quite sure. My sorority sister kinda pushed me onto a team. I *think* (from looking at the website) you and your team walk/run for 24 hours straight. I don't know if that means that someone on your team must be walking at all times.. or if that means that everyone must walk for 24 hours straight..?
Anyone know?

Oh and the event is 2/8/11-2/9/11. I work out about 3 times a week for about an hour.

The way it is supposed to work is that at least 1 team member is walking at all times.  The Relay is usually a pretty casual event, so you will do just fine.  The year I did it we signed up for walking shifts - an hour or two at a time.

Read my blog, BARIATHLETE   I run because I can.

no one really walks the whole 24 hours. I did it a few years ago, and as long as you do one lap your good lol! The point is just to raise money/awareness for cancer. I had more fun doing the 5k race for the cure because I had to run it.

Hey RYCRY & Fellow Dr Kim Patient! Yeah, everyone typically hase 2-3 legs they walk / run. Someone is moving at all times (One person usually) then passes the batton, timing chip, or go ahead to the next person in line. Just start walking or running your booty off. Check out www.c25k.com

Dan would, on his hands, while singing a song and juggling, but he is an animal.

Yeah everyone takes turns, you do what you can.  I have seen some as a relay where you trade off and some where the group walks as much as they can.

Just have fun with it, enjoy your time and your friends and thanks for doing a good deed like this.

Make sure to thank the volunteers who are there working.
