Hey guys

I was able to do pretty well yesterday.  I did the interval training (couch to 5k) and I didn't push myself.  But I think what made all the difference in the world was I ate something 30 minutes before I worked out...I had 3 wheat crackers and tsp of peanut butter...and I also made sure I drank tons of water (I think I drank about 32+ ozs in 40 minutes...that's alot for me).  I was able to go longer and harder than I was able to before.  It's so weird how that little bit of food and water can make such a difference.  So I was able to go 50 minutes!!!  Now I will work slowly on the couch to 5k...increasing my run time.

I was so happy I did it with no pain or illness.  Although, I am little sore today but I think that's to be expected.  I will take a break today and go at it again today.

Thanks guys for all your tips and encouragement.  I guess I get impatient.  I just want to be able to do what I want to do NOW...hahaha

That's great.  I find intervals a tough workout, but I do push the fast leg as fast as I can go.  They really have helped me increase my overall stamina and speed.

I too found that a bit of water (just a bit because otherwise I have problems on my run) and a bit of food (nothing too solid- cottage cheese works good) is a great booster before my runs outside.

Nutrition and hydration are often underestimated, glad you figured something out and good job pushing through!
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Great news.  Just keep  hydration and nutrition in mind.  It took me a long time to learn the nutrition aspect, infact I am just getting used to it.

If you haven't already go to a running store and get fitted for shoes. Proper shoes make the world of difference.  Prior to my shoes I was able to do .5 mile before some sort of pain kicked in.  The day after I got my shoes I hit 2.5 miles straight with no pain.  No my only pain is the burn!
